Broke camp at 0640. Low cloud along the eastern ridge, clearing before nine. Followed the creek north to the shale exposure marked yesterday.

Bed dips roughly 18° west. Dark stone beneath the shale is harder than expected. Sample 14-C taken approximately thirty yards east of the creek.

Returned along western line after lunch. Heavy rain made the lower crossing difficult. Stone marker still standing above the bend, approximately six feet beyond the survey line.

No corresponding mark on Wilson's sheet or on the older copy carried by Evans.
